President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Rourkela on Tuesday, marking a significant visit to western Odisha. She landed at Rourkela Airport aboard an Indian Air Force helicopter and received a ceremonial welcome from local authorities and dignitaries.
A large number of officials, public representatives, and citizens gathered at the airport to greet her, creating an atmosphere of pride and excitement. Security forces maintained strict arrangements across the airport and surrounding areas to ensure smooth proceedings. Multiple layers of personnel monitored the premises and coordinated movement throughout the day.
After her arrival, the President proceeded directly to the venue of a public meeting. School students performed attractive dances in front of the meeting place, adding a cultural dimension to the grand reception. The performances reflected the enthusiasm of the local community and highlighted Odisha’s rich traditions.
Governor H B Kambhampati and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi joined the President at the function, underscoring the importance of the visit. The event drew attention from administrative circles and the general public, reflecting Rourkela’s growing prominence in Odisha’s development landscape.
