President of India Droupadi Murmu will begin her six-day visit to Odisha today, undertaking a packed schedule of official, cultural, and public engagements across five districts of the state—Puri, Khordha, Balasore, Jajpur, and Mayurbhanj.
The President is scheduled to arrive in Bhubaneswar this evening. As part of her itinerary, she will travel to Jajpur, where she will offer prayers at the revered shrine of Maa Biraja, the presiding deity of the district. On February 3, President Murmu will spend over 1.5 hours at the Biraja Temple before proceeding to Balasore.
In Balasore, the President will attend the 12th convocation ceremony of Fakir Mohan University. During the event, she will interact with graduating students, emphasizing the importance of education and youth empowerment. Later in the evening, she will travel to Puri, where she will stay overnight.
On February 4, President Murmu will receive a ceremonial welcome at the Singhadwara of the Shree Jagannath Temple. The welcome will be led by the Gajapati Maharaja, temple servitors, and senior administrative officials. After offering prayers to Lord Jagannath, she will perform Pinda Daan rituals at Swetaganga.
Following her engagements in Puri, the President will travel to Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district on the same day. There, she will address a large public gathering in her native region and interact with local residents. She is also scheduled to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several development projects aimed at regional growth.
On February 5, President Murmu will visit the Jagannath Temple in Rairangpur. Later in the afternoon, she will proceed via Jashipur to the Similipal Tiger Reserve, renowned for its rich biodiversity and ecological significance, where she will stay overnight.
Concluding her visit on February 6, the President will interact with tribal women and youth from the Similipal region, underscoring her commitment to community engagement, inclusive development, and tribal welfare.
