The Odisha Energy Department accepted the resignation of Shri Pradeep Kumar Jena, IAS (Retd.), from the post of Chairperson of the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) on personal grounds.

According to the official notification issued on Monday, Jena will relinquish his post with effect from May 25, 2026 (afternoon). The order, signed by Additional Chief Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev, confirmed that the resignation had been accepted by the Governor.

Jena, a retired IAS officer, had been serving as the Chairperson of OERC, overseeing regulatory and policy matters related to electricity distribution and tariff management in the state. His decision to step down marks a significant administrative change in Odisha’s power sector.

The Energy Department’s notification stated that the resignation was submitted citing personal reasons. Officials said the process for appointing a new Chairperson will begin soon to ensure continuity in regulatory functions.
