India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Thailand and Sri Lanka from April 3–6, 2025, reinforcing India’s commitment to regional collaboration and mutual growth.
During his trip, PM Modi will participate in the 6th BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok and hold discussions with the leaders of both nations, covering a range of strategic and developmental topics.
Thailand Engagement
On April 3, PM Modi will meet with his Thai counterpart, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, to review bilateral ties and explore future collaboration. The 6th BIMSTEC Summit, themed “BIMSTEC – Prosperous, Resilient and Open,” will be held on April 4, focusing on areas like trade, security, connectivity, and people-to-people ties.
Sri Lanka Visit
From April 4–6, the Prime Minister will visit Sri Lanka, where he will meet President Anura Kumara Disanayaka. The visit aims to review progress in developmental projects under the “Joint Vision” to foster partnerships and to inaugurate initiatives in Anuradhapura funded by India.
This visit underscores India’s policies such as “Neighbourhood First” and “Act East,” while further strengthening ties in the Indo-Pacific region.
