Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, as well as Gujarat, on March 7-8.
The visit will see the inauguration and foundation-stone laying of multiple development projects aimed at boosting healthcare, infrastructure, and women’s empowerment.
In Silvassa, on March 7, at around 2 PM, PM Modi will inaugurate the NAMO Hospital (Phase I), a 450-bed facility built at a cost of over Rs 460 crore. This hospital is expected to significantly enhance healthcare services in the region, particularly benefiting the tribal communities.
At around 2:45 PM, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various development projects worth over Rs 2580 crore. These projects include village roads, schools, health and wellness centers, Panchayat and administrative buildings, Anganwadi centers, and water supply and sewage infrastructure. The aim is to improve connectivity, promote industrial growth, encourage tourism, create employment opportunities, and enhance public welfare initiatives in the region.
In Surat, later that day, at around 5 PM, PM Modi will launch the Surat Food Security Saturation Campaign, distributing benefits under the National Food Security Act to over 2.3 lakh beneficiaries.
On March 8 in Navsari, the Prime Minister will participate in the Lakhpati Didi program at around 11:30 AM, interacting with women entrepreneurs and launching various schemes. He will also felicitate five Lakhpati Didis with Lakhpati Didi Certificates.
PM Modi will launch the G-SAFAL (Gujarat Scheme for Antyodaya Families for Augmenting Livelihoods) and G-MAITRI (Gujarat Mentorship and Acceleration of Individuals for Transforming Rural Income) programs. These initiatives aim to provide financial assistance and entrepreneurial training to women from Antyodaya families and support startups working to create a conducive environment for rural livelihoods.
