Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over Rs 9,000 crore in Aizawl, Mizoram, marking a significant push toward infrastructure and economic growth in the Northeast region.
The event, held on September 13, 2025, showcased the government’s commitment to inclusive development and regional connectivity.
Among the projects launched were major road and transport upgrades, energy infrastructure, and public welfare schemes aimed at improving the quality of life for residents in Mizoram. The Prime Minister emphasized the strategic importance of the Northeast and reiterated the government’s resolve to integrate the region more deeply into the national development framework.
In his address, PM Modi also extended best wishes to Mrs. Sushila Karki on assuming office as the Prime Minister of the Interim Government of Nepal, highlighting India’s support for regional stability and cooperation.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior officials, local leaders, and citizens, who welcomed the initiatives as a transformative step for Mizoram’s future.
Furthering his vision of quality education for all, Prime Minister also inaugurated Eklavya Model Residential School at Tlangnuam. The school will improve enrollment, reduce dropout rates, and provide holistic education opportunities for tribal youth.
