Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 184 newly constructed Type-VII multi-storey flats for Members of Parliament at Baba Kharak Singh Marg, New Delhi.
The event was attended by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Ministers Manohar Lal and Kiren Rijiju, and other dignitaries.
Designed to be self-sufficient and inclusive, the complex integrates modern amenities, green technology, and Divyangjan-friendly features. It adheres to GRIHA 3-star sustainability standards and complies with the National Building Code 2016. The use of monolithic concrete with aluminium shuttering ensured timely completion and structural durability.
Each unit includes residential and official spaces, staff accommodation, and community facilities. The buildings are earthquake-resistant and equipped with robust security systems. The development addresses the longstanding housing shortage for MPs and reflects a shift toward vertical, cost-efficient urban planning.
PM Modi also interacted with construction workers, acknowledging their role in shaping the nation’s infrastructure.
