Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the G7 Outreach Session, addressing global leaders on energy security, AI governance, and international cooperation.

Modi emphasised energy availability, accessibility, affordability, and acceptability as the pillars of India’s strategy. He underscored India’s achievements, including early fulfilment of Paris Agreement commitments and global sustainability initiatives such as:

  • International Solar Alliance

  • Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure

  • Global Biofuels Alliance

  • Mission LiFE

  • One Sun – One World – One Grid

Expressing concerns about geopolitical instability, Modi reaffirmed India’s dedication to amplifying the Global South’s priorities. He condemned terrorism, describing the Pahalgam attack as a threat to all humanity and called for unified global action.

Raising critical concerns, he challenged world leaders with thought-provoking questions:

  • Will nations recognise terrorism as a threat only when they are targeted?

  • Can perpetrators and victims ever be equated?

  • Should global institutions remain passive spectators?

Discussing the intersection of AI and energy, Modi stressed the need for clean and sustainable AI adoption. He proposed:

  • Human-centric AI innovation

  • Global AI governance frameworks

  • Securing critical mineral supply chains for AI

  • Utilising India’s diverse data pool for responsible AI

Calling for closer international cooperation, Modi emphasised that progress must prioritise both people and the planet. He urged global partnerships to harness technology for a greener and more inclusive future.
