Kendrapara: A Plus-II student was electrocuted to death while five other students sustained injuries after they came in contact with a live wire in the Marshaghai locality of Kendrapara district.
The deceased has been identified as Debiprasad Das (16), a resident of Gopinathpur village in Badakula panchayat of Mahakalapada block.
According to reports, the incident took place at the hostel of a private coaching center in Marshaghai police station area. Debiprasad along with other students had gone to the terrace of the hostel when they accidentally came in contact with a live 11 KV wire.
Subsequently, they sustained critical injuries. They were rushed to a nearby hospital where the attending doctors declared Das dead. The five other students are currently under treatment.
On being informed, police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem.
Further investigation is underway into the matter, police said.
