A chilling murder rocked Karigar Sahi last night, as miscreants allegedly shot and killed a youth, Maheswar Behera, also known as Titu.
The incident occurred around 11 PM, when the attackers ambushed him near his house, firing two bullets into his leg. As he collapsed, they reportedly dragged him to another location and smashed his head with a stone, killing him on the spot.
Hearing gunshots, Titu’s wife rushed outside, only to find the attackers had fled. Locals took him to the Dhenkanal District Headquarters Hospital, where he was declared dead.
Police suspect past enmity as the motive behind the crime, with investigations underway. Two suspects have already been taken into custody. Titu’s wife revealed that the same attackers had assaulted him a month ago, fracturing his hand. The brutal killing has sent shockwaves through the locality, with residents demanding justice.
