An all-party meeting chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was held today at the Parliament House Complex to ensure the smooth functioning of the upcoming Winter Session of Parliament, 2025.
The meeting, convened by Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju, saw the participation of 50 leaders representing 36 political parties. Key Union Ministers also participated.
The Winter Session will commence on Monday, December 1, 2025. It is scheduled to conclude on Friday, December 19, 2025, providing 15 sittings over 19 days.
Union Minister Rijiju informed the leaders that the government has tentatively identified 14 legislative and financial items for the session. Moreover, the government is fully open to discussing any other important issue raised by the opposition as per parliamentary rules.
Leaders from various political parties shared their concerns and issues they intend to raise during the session. They assured full cooperation to the government for productive proceedings.
Prominent attendees included Union Health Minister and Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha Jagat Prakash Nadda. Additionally, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law & Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Information & Broadcasting Dr. L. Murugan attended.
Key bills likely to be taken up include The Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2025. Also, The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (Amendment) Bill, 2025, The Securities Markets Code Bill, 2025, The Insurance Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2025, The Higher Education Commission of India Bill, 2025, and The Health Security cum National Security Cess Bill, 2025 will be discussed. The session will also witness the presentation and voting on the First Batch of Supplementary Demands for Grants for 2025-26.
Concluding the meeting, Rajnath Singh and Kiren Rijiju thanked all leaders for their active participation and constructive suggestions.
