Pakistan Admits Role in Pulwama Attack, Calls It ‘Tactical Brilliance’

Pakistan's military publicly acknowledges its involvement in the deadly Pulwama terror attack after years of denial, raising tensions with India

In a shocking admission, Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed of the Pakistan Air Force publicly acknowledged Pakistan’s role in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, calling it a display of “tactical brilliance.”

The statement contradicts Pakistan’s years-long denial of any involvement in the attack, which claimed the lives of 40 Indian paramilitary personnel.

Ahmed’s comments come amidst heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, particularly following India’s Operation Sindoor, which targeted terrorist hideouts linked to Pulwama and other attacks. His revelation has sparked outrage in India, with government officials demanding accountability from the Pakistani leadership.

For years, Islamabad insisted that it had no part in the suicide bombing orchestrated by Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), a terrorist group operating from Pakistan. However, Ahmed’s statement has dismantled Pakistan’s veil of plausible deniability, potentially setting the stage for diplomatic consequences.

With India’s security concerns heightened and international pressure mounting on Pakistan, the admission might have far-reaching implications on bilateral relations and counterterrorism efforts in the region.
