Bhubaneswar: Vaccination centres in various parts of the State Capital witnessed heavy rush, as locals, eager to receive jabs, beelined the spots.
Reportedly, the rush increased even after the 14-day lockdown restrictions, imposed by the Odisha government, came into effect from May 5. Following this, Covid-appropriate behaviour like social distance is being given the go-by.
The people without getting themselves registered also thronged the vaccination centre.
However, BMC commissioner Prem Chandra Choudhury had earlier said that a beneficiary under Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) may be deprived of Covid-19 vaccine shot if he doesn’t register himself/herself on government portal (Co-Win App) during the third phase inoculation drive.
Notably, as per the government instruction, the civic body from May 1 rolled out the vaccination programme for all above 18 years in a symbolic manner.
