A passenger bus returning from Hyderabad met with a major accident in the Bijaghati ghat area of Malkangiri district, Odisha, early Monday morning.

The bus reportedly lost control at a sharp turn and overturned, trapping over 50 passengers inside.

According to sources, the bus was descending a ghat road when the driver apparently lost balance on a curve, leading to the accident. The condition of the passengers is not yet confirmed, and rescue operations are ongoing, led by local villagers and emergency responders.

Authorities have been alerted and rescue teams are en route. Additional support is expected soon to assist in retrieving those trapped inside the overturned vehicle.

As per initial reports, the bus was carrying people returning to Odisha from Hyderabad. Emergency services are focusing on extracting passengers safely, and no official confirmation of casualties or injuries has been released as yet.
