Over 4 Quintals Of Cannabis Seized In Rayagada

Rayagada: Muniguda police have seized a huge cache of cannabis from a truck near Telengapadar village under the police limits in Rayagada district. The estimated value of the seized contraband is around Rs 40 lakh, officials informed. Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted the vehicle. Upon search, 4.4 quintals of ganja was recovered from the vehicle. However, the truck driver managed to escape the scene. The truck and the contraband consignment have been seized and f urther investigation is underway in this regard, police sources said. It is pertinent to mention that on Tuesday Muniguda police arrested a youth with the seizure of 22 kg of ganja from a motorbike near a temple in Hukumatola area in Rayagada district. function
