More than 200 passengers on board a Singapore-bound Air India flight faced a harrowing experience when they were made to sit inside the aircraft for nearly two hours without proper air conditioning, before eventually being deboarded.
Flight AI2380, operated with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, was scheduled to take off from Delhi around 11 pm. However, according to passengers, the aircraft’s air conditioning and electrical systems malfunctioned soon after boarding.
A PTI journalist who was on board reported that passengers were left seated in uncomfortable conditions as the cabin grew warm.
“After almost two hours, we were finally deboarded and taken back to the terminal building. The crew did not provide any clear reason for the delay,” the passenger said.
Videos circulating on social media show frustrated travelers using newspapers and magazines to fan themselves while waiting inside the grounded aircraft.
As of now, Air India has not released an official statement regarding the delay, technical fault, or alternative arrangements for the passengers. It is unclear when the flight will be rescheduled.
