Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa made headlines with his 34,000-kilometre round trip from international duty to bowl just 20 balls—and it paid off. Zampa’s economical spell of 1-21 included the crucial dismissal of David Willey, helping restrict the Rockets to 142-8 in pursuit of 169.
Nathan Sowter, another leggie, starred with 3-25, including the prized wicket of Joe Root. England’s Will Jacks laid the foundation for the Invincibles’ win with a blistering 72 off 41 balls, while Marcus Stoinis top-scored for the Rockets with a fiery 64 before falling to Saqib Mahmood.
Despite losing Lockie Ferguson to injury in the warm-up, the Rockets fought hard, but the Invincibles’ all-round performance sealed their dominance in the tournament.
