A chemical explosion occurred on Wednesday at the ordnance factory in Badamal, under the Saintala block of Bolangir district, leaving a fourth-grade employee critically injured.
The incident took place during the mixing of chemical substances, highlighting potential safety lapses at the facility.
The injured employee, identified as Siba Prasad Bhoi, was initially treated at the factory hospital before being transferred to the Rourkela Hospital for advanced care. Meanwhile, security measures at the site have been significantly tightened to prevent further mishaps.
