The State Medicinal Plants Board, Odisha, announced a state-level online quiz on medicinal plants to coincide with the upcoming 18th Kalinga Herbal Fair.
The fair will take place from December 10 to 16 at Unit–3 Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar.
To begin with, participants will include members of Van Suraksha Samitis (VSS), traditional healers, medicinal plant cultivators, primary collectors, researchers, students, and the general public from across the state. Moreover, the quiz aims to raise awareness about the use of medicinal plants, traditional healing practices, seasonal benefits, side effects, and common household remedies.

Furthermore, interested individuals can register online by visiting the official website of the State Medicinal Plants Board, Odisha, at smpbodisha.in (Quiz Section). After successfully completing the quiz, participants will be able to download certificates of participation.
Officials also expressed hope that the quiz will inspire responsibility among students toward environmental and natural resource conservation. Finally, they expect the initiative to encourage future generations to adopt healthier lifestyles and appreciate the value of traditional medicine.
