The Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) has rolled out a slew of measures aimed at financial relief and efficiency.
Among the key announcements, domestic consumers with a connected load of up to 2 kilowatts will be exempted from paying monthly smart meter rent, significantly reducing their electricity expenses. Additionally, OERC has continued its 4% rebate on bills paid through digital payment methods, encouraging consumers to adopt cashless transactions.
In another welcome step, electricity tariffs will remain unchanged for the upcoming financial year, bringing stability amidst rising costs elsewhere. Notably, there has been no tariff hike since 2021-22, ensuring sustained affordability for households and businesses alike.
These measures are expected to provide financial ease while promoting digital payment methods and efficient electricity use across Odisha.
