Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has praised Odisha’s remarkable industrial growth under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
Speaking at the Investors’ Meet organized by Invest Odisha at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi, Minister Puri highlighted Odisha’s significant contributions to India’s emergence as a major hub in the petroleum and industrial sectors.
Puri mentioned that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is poised to become a major hub in the petroleum and industrial sectors, with states like Odisha playing a crucial role. During the conference, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi encouraged investors to consider Odisha for their ventures, citing the state’s ample industrial infrastructure and favorable environment.
Industries Minister Sampad Charan Swain provided an update on Odisha’s industrial progress, while Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja shared information about various facilitation measures implemented by the Odisha government to support new industrial establishments. Additionally, Additional Chief Secretary (Industry) Hemant Sharma outlined the government’s strategic approach to promoting industrial growth in the state.
On Monday, the Chief Minister engaged with various industrialists, successfully attracting investments totaling approximately Rs 30,595 crore for Odisha, with plans for 14 new industries. Agreements have been signed for 11 of these projects. Furthermore, on Tuesday, memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were established for two major petroleum projects in Paradip and Chandikhol. A significant cracker project will be developed in Paradip, and petroleum reserves will be created in Chandikhol, with MoUs signed with IOCL and ISSL for this initiative.
During his visit to New Delhi, the Chief Minister also met with Roshni Nadar Malhotra, Chairperson of HCL Technologies, and requested the establishment of an HCL Tech campus in Odisha. Additional Chief Secretary Nikunja Dhal, Special Secretary Manoj Sahu, and other senior officials accompanied him on the visit.
