In a significant move towards balancing development and wildlife conservation, the Odisha State Wildlife Board held its 10th meeting today under the leadership of Forest Minister Ganesh Ram Singkhuntia.

The Forest Minister emphasized that the Forest Department will never hinder steps taken for the welfare and development of people.

The meeting saw attendance from notable members, including MLA Irashis Acharya and representatives from various sectors like wildlife, forestry, and law enforcement. Discussions revolved around critical proposals aimed at modernizing infrastructure while ensuring wildlife conservation.

Several key proposals were reviewed, including the installation of mobile towers under the 4G Saturation Project, laying Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) in wildlife zones, and establishing community vocational training centers. All 14 new proposals received clearance for submission to the National Board for Wildlife.

Past achievements, like the approval for mobile towers in buffer zones of the Similipal Tiger Reserve and the development of Ro-Pax Jetty infrastructure, reflect Odisha’s commitment to fostering connectivity and growth in harmony with ecological balance.

The meeting showcased Odisha’s drive to seamlessly integrate development with environmental preservation.
