Odisha Vigilance has taken decisive action against corruption by arresting four former secretaries of PACS (Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies) in the districts of Sambalpur and Bargarh.
The accused, identified as Sri Bhubaneswar Sahu, Sri Bhagaban Patel, Chhabila Behera, and Kantilal Bhoi, were charged with embezzling Rs 64,13,730 through fraudulent loan repayment schemes and manipulating records in Day Books.
The case revolves around misappropriation of funds related to loan repayments, fertilizer sale proceeds, and unauthorized withdrawals from members’ Savings Bank Deposit accounts. All four accused have been booked under Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case Nos. 4, 5, 6, and 7, registered on March 28, 2025. The Vigilance Department emphasized its commitment to eradicating corruption and ensuring justice.
The accused are set to be presented in court today, marking a critical step in the fight against financial fraud in cooperative societies across Odisha.
