Odisha Vigilance arrested Rabindra Kumar Nayak, Forest Ranger of Kendrapada Forest Range, for possessing disproportionate assets far beyond his known sources of income.
He will be produced before the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack today.
During extensive searches, Vigilance teams uncovered assets including two buildings—one a palatial four-storeyed structure covering 7038 sq ft, six high-value plots, 283 grams of gold, cash of Rs 2.14 lakh, bank deposits of ₹76 lakh, and one four-wheeler. Nayak failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for the source of these assets.
The investigation revealed that Nayak accumulated wealth disproportionate to his official earnings, prompting the registration of Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No. 25/2026 under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018.
Officials stated that the Vigilance team will continue examining financial records and property documents to trace possible benami holdings. The arrest marks another major step in Odisha Vigilance’s ongoing crackdown on corruption among government officials.
The operation involved multiple teams conducting simultaneous searches across Kendrapada and nearby districts. Vigilance sources confirmed that the seized materials will be presented as evidence in court proceedings.
