Authorities in Odisha’s Jajpur district have identified 894 individuals who fraudulently received benefits under an old-age pension scheme by submitting fake documents.
The scam was uncovered in the Binjharpur block, prompting officials to demand the return of the misappropriated funds.
Notices have been issued to the ineligible recipients, warning of legal action if the funds are not repaid. This discovery follows a previous investigation revealing irregularities amounting to ₹90 lakh, leading to a police probe and the suspension of the Block Social Security Officer.
