Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo announced that electricity will be restored across cyclone-affected districts within 48 hours after Cyclone Montha subsides.
He stressed the need for uninterrupted power supply and confirmed that the Energy Department has already made extensive preparations.
To ensure quick recovery, the state has stocked wires, transformers, and electric poles in vulnerable districts. As the harvest season continues, Singh Deo pointed out that heavy rainfall could damage paddy crops. Therefore, he instructed district collectors to submit crop damage reports immediately after the cyclone passes.
During a review meeting, the Revenue and Disaster Management Minister evaluated the readiness of various departments. Senior officials, including the Development Commissioner, Additional Chief Secretaries, Relief Commissioner, and Energy Secretary, participated in the discussion. The Energy Department presented its strategy to reduce cyclone impact and maintain statewide power continuity.
To further support affected consumers, the government enhanced coordination with call centers. Citizens can report power-related emergencies through the 24×7 toll-free helpline number 1912.
