The Odisha government will install CCTV cameras outside all state government offices to enhance security and monitoring.
The cameras will cover a minimum radius of 500 meters around each facility and connect directly to a centralized Command and Control Room.
The Commerce and Transport Department issued an official notification confirming the plan. A high-level meeting is scheduled for October 17 to finalize implementation strategies and technical specifications.
Officials aim to improve surveillance and ensure better public safety around government buildings. The integrated system will allow real-time monitoring and quicker response to incidents. The move aligns with broader efforts to modernize infrastructure and promote transparency in public administration.
The department emphasized that the CCTV network will help deter unauthorized activities and support law enforcement. The initiative also reflects the state’s commitment to adopting smart governance tools.
This surveillance expansion marks a significant step in Odisha’s digital security roadmap. Authorities expect the system to be operational in phases following the upcoming review meeting.
