The Odisha Higher Education Department has introduced a new system allowing students to apply for UG courses before their Plus Two results are announced.
This move is expected to speed up the admission cycle and reduce delays in seat allotments. Previously, applications could only be submitted after the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) published results. Now, students awaiting their scores can select the “appeared” option in the application form.
Once CHSE results are released, students will have a 10-day window to update their marks, ensuring a seamless transition. The Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal is already accepting applications, with a deadline of May 20. Candidates can also edit their forms on May 21 and 22 before final submission.
Additionally, those who appeared for the CHSE exams will benefit from an automatic mark-fetching system, removing the need for manual data entry and simplifying the process further. This progressive approach aims to provide more efficiency and flexibility for students seeking higher education opportunities in Odisha.
