The Odisha government has initiated a high-level coordination push to repair and restore 1,658 lift irrigation projects damaged across the state due to recent heavy rainfall and flooding.
A high-level review meeting was held at the Revenue Minister’s official office inside the Odisha Legislative Assembly. Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Energy, Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, alongside Revenue & Disaster Management Minister, Suresh Pujari, led the detailed discussions.
During the meeting, Revenue Minister Pujari emphasised the urgent need for comprehensive ground inspections and requested accelerated restoration work on all affected Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation (OLIC) assets to ensure farm operations are not prolonged or disrupted.
To streamline execution, Minister Pujari directed seamless coordination among key departments, specifically:

Sustained adverse weather conditions throughout the season have damaged public infrastructure across multiple sectors. The Revenue & Disaster Management Department continues to monitor damages closely and conduct ongoing evaluations to expedite restoration across departments.
The review meeting was attended by senior officials, including the Additional Chief Secretary of the Energy Department, Vishal Dev, the Principal Secretary of the Water Resources Department, Shubha Sharma, along with senior representatives from the SRC office and concerned departments.
