Odisha Police introduced the e-Zero FIR System for cyber financial fraud cases, marking a major leap toward technology-driven policing.

Director General of Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, IPS, launched the system at the State Police Headquarters, reinforcing the department’s commitment to citizen-centric and transparent law enforcement.

The State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB) has integrated the National Cybercrime Helpline 1930 with the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) of Odisha. This integration allows automatic generation of e-Zero FIR requests for eligible cyber financial fraud complaints, regardless of jurisdiction.

Complaints involving frauds of ₹10 lakh and above, reported through Helpline 1930, will automatically trigger e-Zero FIR requests routed to the Cyber Police Station, Crime Branch, Odisha. Based on case details, the Cyber Police may register a regular FIR, transfer the complaint, link it with an existing case, or close it if criteria are not met.

The system eliminates duplicate data entry, accelerates case registration, and improves coordination among law enforcement agencies. It also enables complainants to track their case status efficiently.

DGP Khurania emphasised that Odisha Police will continue harnessing technology to strengthen cybercrime response and ensure timely justice. He urged citizens to report cyber financial frauds immediately through Helpline 1930 to help prevent further losses.
