In a startling update to the tragic Balanga minor burn case, Odisha Police declared that their investigation has revealed no evidence of involvement by any other individual.
This announcement follows the death of the minor victim at AIIMS Delhi, where she had been receiving advanced treatment after suffering 75% burn injuries.
According to reports, the minor girl was allegedly set ablaze on July 19 near Bayabar village in Puri’s Balanga block. Initially admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar, she was later airlifted to AIIMS Delhi. Despite multiple surgeries and critical care, she succumbed to her injuries on Saturday.
The Odisha Police, through an official statement on X, expressed profound sorrow and condolences, urging the public to remain sensitive. “The investigation was conducted with utmost sincerity and is nearing completion,” read the official statement. “So far, no evidence suggests any third-party involvement.”

Following the emotionally charged case and public reaction, special police forces have now been deployed around the victim’s residence and across Bayabar village.
