A high-level review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg discussed the comprehensive development of the famous Mahima Temple at Joranda, the principal seat of Mahima Dharma.
Officials deliberated on constructing a new, tall and grand temple over the existing Shunya Mandir. The plan also includes upgrading the surrounding areas, such as the Akhanda Jyoti Mandir, Bhajan Mandap, Prayer Hall, and Pushkarini. Proposals for a modern kitchen, improved pilgrim accommodation, and parking facilities were also reviewed.
Construction Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh informed the Chief Secretary that the blueprint for the project has been prepared in consultation with Mahima saints and followers, in line with the directives of the Hon’ble Chief Minister. The project is expected to be completed within three years and aims to give Odisha tourism a new dimension.
The meeting emphasised the holistic development of the Mahima Peeth, ensuring cultural preservation along with modern infrastructure. Dhenkanal Collector Ashish Ishwar Patil joined the meeting virtually, while OBCC Managing Director Sameer Hota and other departmental officials attended in person.
The initiative is expected to enhance the spiritual significance of Joranda Mahima Temple and attract more visitors, strengthening Odisha’s cultural and tourism profile.
