Bhubaneswar: Voting for the three-tier panchayat elections concluded across the State on Thursday, the day day 1 of vote counting began today.
At 8 am today the counting for 315 Zilla Parishad zones began. Similarly, on February 27 and 28, counting for 307 and 229 Zilla Parishad zones will take place, respectively.
The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is confident of a landslide victory. The party is sure about getting a thumping 90 percent mandate.
The State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is also hopeful of registering a better performance this time.
The State unit of the grand old party Congress is pinning its hope on coming second in the race.
