Odisha’s Minister for Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education, Sampad Chandra Swain, chaired a high-level review meeting today to accelerate the implementation of two major Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) projects in Paradip and Bhadrak.

The projects — a Dual Feed Naphtha Cracker Plant at the Paradip Petrochemical Complex and a yarn production facility in Bhadrak — are seen as vital to realising the Prime Minister’s vision for eastern India’s development. Minister Swain stressed the strategic importance of both initiatives and directed officials to prioritise their timely execution.

The Dual Feed Naphtha Cracker Plant will strengthen Odisha’s petrochemical sector, while the Bhadrak yarn project is expected to give a major boost to the state’s textile industry. The minister instructed authorities to swiftly resolve pending land acquisition issues and fast-track all necessary clearances.

Highlighting the economic impact, Minister Swain said the projects will attract large-scale investment, provide new momentum to Odisha’s economy, and generate thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities for the state’s youth.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from IOCL, IDCO, IPICOL, GRIDCO, OPTCL, DCI, and the Industries, Revenue, and Water Resources departments. The District Collectors of Bhadrak and Jagatsinghpur participated through video conferencing.
