The Governor of Odisha inaugurated the International Language Training Centre and flagged off the ‘Skill on Wheel’ initiative at the Skill Development Institute (SDI), Bhubaneswar.
Supported by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), these initiatives aim to empower youth with global career opportunities and doorstep training access.
The event witnessed the presence of Minister of State for Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education, Sampad Chandra Swain, who praised Odisha’s growing prominence in skill training. Alongside senior officials from the Skill Development & Technical Education Department, Indian Oil Corporation, and NSDC, the inauguration underscored Odisha’s commitment to fostering a skilled workforce.
In his address, the Governor lauded SDI Bhubaneswar’s role as a finishing school for Engineering, Polytechnic, and ITI graduates, emphasising its world-class infrastructure and industry collaboration. He expressed optimism that Odisha would soon emerge as the ‘Skill Hub of Eastern India.’
The newly launched International Language Training Centre is set to equip students with foreign language proficiency and pre-departure support, enabling them to explore international career prospects.
