The Electronics & Information Technology (E&IT) Department of the Government of Odisha on Wednesday terminated the Tier-I empanelment of M/s Silicon Tech Lab Pvt. Ltd. with immediate effect.
The decision follows serious violations of the Service Agreement with the Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) and the company’s alleged role in the massive Police Sub-Inspector recruitment scam.
The official notification (No. 6897/E&IT dated 03.12.2025) states that Silicon Tech Lab Pvt. Ltd., empanelled through E&IT Department Notification No. 4023 dated 26.09.2023, has been removed from the Tier-I category for violating several material provisions of the agreement. All other terms and conditions of the original empanelment notification remain unchanged.
This is the latest fallout from the Sub-Inspector recruitment scandal that led to the cancellation of the examination scheduled for October 2025 after question papers were leaked on a large scale.
The Odisha Police Crime Branch and subsequently the CBI have arrested over 120 people, including candidates who paid up to ₹25 lakh each for leaked papers. The multi-crore scam has exposed deep flaws in the multi-layer outsourcing chain used for conducting high-stakes government recruitment exams in the state.
