Odisha Government issued a stern directive to prevent leakage of sensitive information related to VVIP visits.
The Home Department circulated an official communication to all police and administrative heads, emphasising strict vigilance in handling confidential details.
The letter, signed by Additional Secretary Bhabesh Kumar Nayak, instructed the Director General of Police, Intelligence Director, Collectors, and Superintendents of Police to exercise due diligence while sharing minute-to-minute programmes, security arrangements, and operational details. The directive followed a communication from the Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi, highlighting preventive measures against unauthorised transmission of sensitive data.
Officials said the government took serious note of instances where VVIP visit details surfaced on social media platforms. The Home Department warned that any breach of protocol or unauthorised sharing of information would invite disciplinary action.
The circular urged all departments to maintain confidentiality and strengthen internal monitoring mechanisms. It also directed officers to ensure that no sensitive information related to VVIP movements or security plans is shared publicly or electronically without clearance.
