The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced new state presidents for Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Tripura on Thursday, marking a major organisational reshuffle ahead of upcoming elections.
Union Minister of State and MP Harsh Malhotra will head the Delhi unit, while Archana Gupta will lead the party in Haryana. In Tripura, BJP appointed Abhishek Debroy as the new state chief, and Kewal Singh Dillon will take charge of the Punjab unit.
BJP national president Nitin Nabin approved the appointments, and national general secretary Arun Singh issued official notifications confirming the changes. Singh said all appointments take immediate effect.
Party insiders described the reshuffle as part of a broader organisational overhaul aimed at strengthening coordination between the central leadership and state units. The move signals the BJP’s focus on energising its regional leadership ahead of key electoral contests.
The new presidents will oversee preparations for the upcoming Assembly and local elections, ensuring better outreach and grassroots engagement.
