Education is pivotal in individual growth, social transformation, and national development. Governor of Odisha, Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, underscored this message while inaugurating the O-TV Education Conclave – 2025 in Bhubaneswar today.

Addressing educators, policymakers, and professionals, Dr. Kambhampati stated that the world is evolving rapidly, driven by advancements in big data, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and robotics. To remain competitive, India needs a creative, adaptable, and innovative workforce. The National Education Policy (NEP-2020) stands as a milestone in achieving this vision, aligning education with skill development and employment readiness.

“The NEP-2020 is not merely focused on creating job seekers but aims to nurture entrepreneurs and industry leaders,” said the Governor. He emphasised that education must integrate skill-based learning with traditional academic curricula, fostering holistic development among students.

Dr. Kambhampati highlighted that the NEP-2020 seeks to transform India’s learning ecosystem by enhancing collaboration between educational institutions and skill development centres. Experts at the conclave discussed ways to improve curriculum design, incorporating real-world skills to equip students for the global job market.

Additionally, the Governor reiterated India’s vision under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, aiming for a developed India by 2047. He encouraged youth to embrace entrepreneurship and contribute to economic growth through innovation and enterprise.

The event was hosted by Odisha Television Group, with Managing Director Jagi Mangat Panda delivering the welcome address. Dr. Kambhampati commended O-TV’s continued efforts to promote meaningful discussions on education, reaffirming the importance of industry-academic partnerships in driving impactful reforms.

With ongoing initiatives under NEP-2020, Odisha is poised to build a skilled, future-ready workforce that will contribute to India’s long-term economic and social progress.
