Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved the creation of 2,500 new home guard positions in the state to enhance security and law enforcement.
Currently, Odisha has 17,675 home guard positions, and with this new addition, the total will rise to 20,175. The decision aims to strengthen the state’s policing capacity and ensure better law and order management.
This initiative follows the CM’s earlier announcement regarding an expansion of police personnel across various departments. The government plans to create around 12,000 positions in different branches of the state police force to further reinforce security measures.
The move is expected to boost employment opportunities while enhancing safety and surveillance across Odisha.
