The Department of Forest, Environment & Climate Change (FE&CC), Government of Odisha, conducted its monthly high-level coordination meeting to accelerate national and state-level infrastructure development.
Sri Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma, IAS, Principal Secretary of the FE&CC Department, chaired the session and emphasised fast-tracking Forest Diversion Proposals to eliminate procedural delays.
The meeting reviewed major projects monitored under PRAGATI and PMG platforms. Officials discussed 4G saturation projects led by BSNL and RJIL, along with critical transport and energy infrastructure managed by Indian Railways, NHAI, and OPTCL. The Principal Secretary also examined the progress of mineral and industrial projects involving Tata Steel Ltd, Rungta Mines, Dalmia Cement, Mundra Alumina, Vedanta, Kashvi Power & Steel, Trustline Mining, Bhusan Power, and Kundan Goldmines.
Sri Sarma acknowledged the progress achieved in the past month and outlined a clear roadmap for completing pending tasks. He urged Nodal Officers, FCA, RCCFs, DFOs, and User Agencies to adhere to timelines and maintain collective accountability.
He directed officials to expedite Forest Diversion Proposals by assisting User Agencies in filing applications and identifying Compensatory Afforestation (CA) land within fixed deadlines. The meeting brought together Regional CCFs, DFOs, and User Agencies through virtual mode, reinforcing a unified approach to environmental governance in Odisha.
