In response to the recent security concerns in Jammu and Kashmir, the Odisha government has taken proactive measures to ensure the safe return of students from the region.

The Commerce and Transport Department is spearheading the initiative, coordinating travel and logistical support to bring students back home.

As part of this effort, four students were assisted at Bhadrak Railway Station to reach their respective destinations. Government officials have been deployed to various transit points to facilitate smooth travel, prioritising student safety and welfare.

Earlier, a special train was arranged to transport Odia students from Jammu to Delhi, following which further arrangements were made for their journey back to Odisha. A 24×7 control room has been set up at Odisha Bhawan, New Delhi, to provide assistance and guidance to students and concerned families.

The evacuation efforts gained urgency as reports emerged of Pakistan’s drone and missile attacks near Jammu shortly after students left the region. Officials emphasise that ensuring the well-being of students remains a top priority, with coordinated efforts from multiple departments.

Local authorities and parents have lauded the swift action of the Odisha government, appreciating the timely response in safeguarding students amid rising tensions.
