In preparation for the first T20 International cricket match between India and South Africa scheduled at Barabati Stadium on December 9, Odisha’s Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania conducted a comprehensive review of security arrangements at the venue today.
The DGP inspected measures for the safety of players and spectators, as well as crowd control protocols. He emphasized that a three-tier security system has been put in place to ensure robust protection within the stadium premises.

Key aspects reviewed included efficient parking and traffic management, stringent checks at entry and exit points, extensive CCTV surveillance, anti-sabotage inspections, and overall police deployment. Special security arrangements have also been made for the arrival and departure of players.

Khurania praised the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) for their excellent preparations, expressing confidence that cricket enthusiasts will enjoy a memorable experience. He noted that Barabati Stadium has successfully hosted numerous international cricket matches in the past, and hoped for similar cooperation from spectators this year.

To facilitate smooth operations, the DGP advised fans to arrive at the stadium 3 to 4 hours before the match starts. He assured that police efforts are ongoing to organize the event in a peaceful, secure, and orderly manner.
The review meeting was attended by S. Devdutt Singh, Police Commissioner of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack; Narasingh Bhol, Additional Police Commissioner of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack; Khilari Rishikesh Dyandeo, DCP of Cuttack; along with other senior police officials and representatives from the OCA.
