In a significant stride towards bolstering law enforcement and ensuring public safety, the Odisha government has created 16,059 police posts across various specialized units in the last six months.
This proactive measure aims to address emerging security challenges, including anti-Naxal operations, cybercrime, industrial security, and traffic management.
The newly created posts include positions within Odisha Special Striking Force (OSSF), Swatantra Shrimandir Suraksha Bahini (SSMSV), Cyber Crime and Economic Offence Police Stations, Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF), and many other units. These specialized branches are equipped to handle diverse responsibilities, such as safeguarding Shri Jagannath Temple, ensuring security in Similipal Tiger Reserve, managing road safety, and tackling digital threats.
With the recruitment drive already underway, the Odisha government reaffirms its commitment to strengthening law and order, enhancing disaster management, and streamlining public services. These initiatives signify the state’s dedication to creating a safer environment for its residents while addressing contemporary challenges effectively.
