In a decisive move underscoring its zero-tolerance policy against corruption, the Odisha Cooperative Department has suspended Panu Charan Sahu, Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies (ARCS) for the Sonapur Mandal, over allegations of financial irregularities and corrupt practices.
The suspension order, issued today, reflects the department’s firm commitment to rooting out malpractices within its ranks. Sahu, who serves as the Cooperative Societies Group Secretary for Sonapur, has been relieved of his duties effective immediately. As part of the disciplinary measures, his official headquarters during the suspension period has been relocated to the office of the Sub-Registrar of Cooperative Societies in Bargarh. He has been strictly instructed not to leave the headquarters without prior permission, ensuring the order remains enforceable until further notice.
Allegations against Sahu reportedly stem from probes into financial mismanagement, though specific details remain under investigation by departmental authorities.
