Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s wife, Smt. Priyanka Marndi has been admitted to the Surgery Department of SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCBMCH) in Cuttack for a minor surgical procedure.

The medical team, led by Professor Dr. L.V. Gauri, has been meticulously preparing for the operation, ensuring all necessary arrangements are in place.

On Wednesday, comprehensive medical tests, including checks for diabetes, blood pressure, heart conditions, respiratory issues, and anaesthesia compatibility, were conducted. The results of these tests will guide the surgical team, with the procedure scheduled for Thursday. Professor Dr. Goutam Kumar Satapathy, SCB Superintendent, is overseeing all operations to ensure seamless care.

Last month, Smt. Marndi visited SCB due to surgery-related concerns. Following consultations with senior doctors and an MRI scan, a medical issue was identified, leading to the decision for this surgical intervention. She has been placed in Surgery Cabin No. 2, and the procedure will be performed under the leadership of Dr. L.V. Gauri. Post-surgery, Smt. Marndi will remain under observation until she is deemed fit for discharge.

The SCB Medical College and Hospital, a cornerstone of healthcare in Odisha, continues to uphold its reputation for providing top-tier medical care to all, including high-profile patients. The medical team remains committed to ensuring Mrs. Marandi’s swift recovery.
