Jajpur Govt Polytechnic Lecturers Suspended

Demonstrating a zero-tolerance stance toward indiscipline in educational institutions, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has ordered the immediate suspension of three lecturers from the Government Polytechnic in Jajpur.

The suspended faculty members have been identified as Senior Lecturer Mr Nrusingha Charan Behera, Lecturer Mr Sandeep Mahapatra, and Lecturer Mrs P. Aradhana.

Heated Argument and Physical Fight inside Campus

According to official complaints, the dispute began on October 26 during a staff meeting. The situation escalated rapidly as the faculty members engaged in heated verbal arguments, which later escalated into physical violence and other undignified behaviour inside the institute premises.

The altercations took place not only during official discussions but also in full view of students, deeply disrupting the academic atmosphere of the college.

Impairing the Educational Atmosphere

Taking strong exception to the incident, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) stated that teaching is a noble and respected profession. Engaging in unruly behaviour and physical violence—especially in the presence of students—severely tarnishes the reputation of the academic institution and sets a harmful precedent.

Given the gravity of the misconduct, Chief Minister Majhi directed that all three educators be placed under suspension immediately. Additionally, departmental disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against them to ensure long-term accountability across the state’s educational landscape.
