Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi chaired a high‑level meeting in Bhubaneswar to review preparations for the upcoming India–South Africa T20 international scheduled at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack, on December 9.
The Chief Minister directed the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) and the state administration to ensure flawless arrangements. He emphasised that Odisha has earned a reputation for successfully hosting international sporting events and must uphold its dignity by conducting the match without errors.
Officials discussed ticket sales, crowd management, uninterrupted lighting, stadium infrastructure, fire safety, parking, and traffic control. OCA secretary Sanjay Behera presented detailed plans, including the installation of new software to monitor power supply. Additional generators will be deployed to guarantee continuous lighting, with backup systems ready to activate instantly if required.
Majhi stressed the importance of foolproof security in light of recent incidents in Delhi. He instructed police to remain vigilant and provide full protection to spectators. He also highlighted the need for a green corridor to facilitate emergency medical transport.
The Chief Minister urged authorities to manage crowd control, ticket distribution, and medical facilities with precision. He reminded officials that cricket attracts nationwide attention and Odisha must showcase its organisational strength.
Senior leaders, including advisor Prakash Mishra, Sports Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, MLA Pratap Chandra Pradhan, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Additional Chief Secretary Satyabrata Sahu, DGP Y.B. Khurania, Principal Secretary Sashwat Mishra, OCA president Pankaj Lochan Mohanty, and other senior officers, attended the meeting.
