Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi met Nepal Embassy officials Naveen Raj Nirukh and Sanjiv Sharma Das at Lok Seva Bhavan today.

The officials discussed with the Chief Minister the death of a Nepali student at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University in Bhubaneswar, which sparked protests and allegations of mishandling by university staffers.

Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli responded to the incident by sending embassy officials to support affected Nepali students, amid demands for transparency and justice following the student’s suicide, allegedly due to harassment.

The officials expressed satisfaction over the government’s action and thanked the Chief Minister. Chief Secy Manoj Ahuja was also present during the discussions.
