Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has extended warm congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on being conferred Indonesia’s highest civilian honour — the Bintang Adipurna (Star of the Republic of Indonesia, Adipurna class).
In a post on X, CM Majhi described the prestigious award as “a resounding recognition of visionary statesmanship” that reflects India’s growing global stature and PM Modi’s tireless efforts in building partnerships for a Viksit Bharat 2047.
“Heartiest congratulations to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji on being conferred with Indonesia’s highest civilian honour, the Bintang Adipurna of the Republic of Indonesia,” the Odisha CM wrote. “A proud moment for every Indian.”

The honour was conferred earlier today on PM Modi’s two-day state visit to Indonesia. President Prabowo Subianto personally welcomed the Indian Prime Minister at the airport with full ceremonial honours, including a fighter jet escort. The award ceremony took place in Jakarta in the presence of senior dignitaries from both nations.
Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna is Indonesia’s highest order, awarded for extraordinary service to the integrity, continuity, and greatness of the Republic. It places PM Modi in an elite league of global leaders — and makes him only the second Indian Prime Minister after Jawaharlal Nehru to receive this distinction.
The award comes at a time when India and Indonesia are deepening their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in defence, trade, energy, maritime security, and people-to-people ties. Both nations share ancient civilisational links, visible in shared cultural heritage such as the Prambanan Temple complex, which PM Modi is also scheduled to visit.
CM Majhi’s message resonated strongly with the sentiment of national pride. He noted that the honour is not just personal recognition for the Prime Minister but a reflection of India’s rising diplomatic influence under his leadership.
